Even though Bethesda announced that the modding tools won’t see the daylight until Spring 2016, this doesn’t mean that modders are not hard at work with the amazing Fallout 4 and we already have the first ever Fallout 4 mod to share with you so that you can hop into the game with some extra goodies to make your new experience in the wastelands unforgettable.
Titled Enhanced Wasteland Preset, this is basically a ReShade/SweetFX Preset so not a real mod, but it’s still something that allows us to improve the game and make everything look better.
The goal of this preset was to slightly add more vibrance to the wasteland environment in Fallout 4 and make it appear less washed out.
And it does manage to do a great job, as you can see in the screenshots below (left half is before the mod, right half is afterwards):
To install the mod, you will have to first download it on Nexus Mods, then copy all the files in the root Fallout 4 directory in your Steam folder (which should be in C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\Fallout 4 – but the path will be different if you have installed Steam in a different location).
This is a good start and I am sure that we’ll get a ton of real and awesome mods shortly. So stay tuned with The Modded Vault to get access to them all!
